Specialty Interests: Complex ablations (radiofrequency and cryoablation) for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, WATCHMAN implantation, Impella percutaneous device implantation, stereotaxis remote magnetic navigation systems, cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) lead extraction (laser and mechanical), 3-D electroanatomic mapping, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablation, cardiac rhythm device implantation (pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices)
Experience: Dr. Vitebskiy has more than 15 years’ experience in diagnosing and treating abnormal heart rhythms with cardiac ablation and device implantation procedures. His expertise includes WATCHMAN implantation for left atrial appendage occlusion and use of stereotaxis remote magnetic navigation systems to improve accuracy of cardiac ablation.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Education: Dr. Vitebskiy is a graduate of Donetsk School of Medicine, Donetsk, Ukraine, and Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta. He completed his internal medicine residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, and remained there for fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Vitebskiy has been a member of the Akron General Hospital medical staff since 2011 and joined the Cleveland Clinic staff there in 2024.
Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Vitebskiy has been involved in research related to arrhythmia and electrophysiology for more than 15 years, including serving as principal investigator on a National Institute of Heath National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute study. He has coauthored papers on his research published in notable peer-reviewed medical journals, including Circulation and Heart Rhythm.
About Dr. Vitebskiy: “I enjoy electrophysiology because most of the conditions we deal with can be understood by and explained to someone without a medical background. I find it very satisfying that for most of the conditions in my field, we can offer definitive treatment, rather than only palliation.”
Leisure Activities: Outside of work, Dr. Vitebskiy enjoys skiing in the winter and biking in the summer.

I had been to a local cardiologist who brushed me off. I then saw Dr Laiq who referred me to Dr. Vitebskiy. Dr V took me seriously and went through the treatment plan with me and my husband. He was very caring.
